Every year we go with my mom to the float preview. No way we're fighting crowds to watch the Parade, so we see the best in a matter of an hour or two with no hot temps to deal with.
While the floats elicited a "meh" response for the most part, we did see a cute train float I tried to get in the picture with baby J.
