Better late than never...
It's pretty much become an annual thing to head to Zion's with Rowley's. This year we left early Wednesday to maximize our time in the park...and it still wasn't long enough. Our first full day we hiked Observation Point. It's was 8 miles round trip and pretty darn steep, but the boys did awesome. Even J did more hiking than we'd anticipated. The weather was beautiful and the view was incredible. I think this is one of our favorite hikes. It's strenuous enough that most people stick with the shorter hikes down in the park, so we didn't have to deal with the crowds quite so much.
The next day we spent a fair amount of time throwing rocks in the river and walking the Big Bend Trail. After we had a picnic at the Lodge. Saturday my parent's were there and we did Weeping Rock, the Grotto trail, ate lunch, and then stopped by Court of the Patriarchs. It was rainy and COLD so we were anxious to get back. Saturday evening when it warmed up we hiked the Watchman Trail and I can say that this will probably be a regular occurrence every year since it's so close to our campsite and beautiful. We had the goal of hitting up several of the shorter trails and that we usually skip, and it was a great choice since we had two toddlers. It was such a low-key, enjoyable trip. I just wish we could figure out how to make it last longer.
